Reformer xxii: Intermediate Arm Sequence with Helen Tardent
Helen Tardent from Pilates Moves & Emergy Pilates guides you through an intermediate level Reformer sequence.
The exercises are:
Chest Expansion, Reverse Hug-a-tree, Bus Driver Back, Reverse Biceps, Hug-a-tree, Bus Driver Forward & Seated Circle Stretch.
The focus is:
Chest Expansion: Activation of latissimus dorsi, teres major & posterior deltoids (shoulder extensors, which are involved in pulling your arm back) & triceps (arm retroversion, which are involved in pulling your arm back past the line of your torso).
Reverse Hug-a-tree & Bus Driver Back: Activation of posterior deltoid, infraspinatus & teres minor (horizontal abductors of the arm, which involves the muscles of your shoulder blades & back of shoulder).
Reverse Biceps: Biceps (front of upper arm)
Hug-a-tree & Bus Driver Forward: pectoralis major & anterior deltoid (horizontal adduction, which involves your chest muscles).
Seated Circle Stretch: Arm circumduction (circling your arm) & chest stretch.
This sequence is suitable for:
Low-risk apparently healthy intermediate Pilates Reformer instructors & students.
You will need:
A Reformer.
